Candy Land Game – Review and Giveaway (Closed – Winner Announced)

Do you remember playing the board game Candy Land? Well I hope you do cause it has been around since the 1940s. Our own kids are enjoying the same game we loved so many years ago (ok, not THAT many years….) I was given the chance to throw a Candy Land party for my kids and their friends and give away some Candy Land games in the process.

This was so fun! I went out and bought bunches of candy for the party along with colored balloons, rainbow colored streamers, plates, cups and curly straws. There must’ve been more candy there than at Halloween lol. All I needed now was some kids who love candy along with fun and games. I had these really great Candy Land invitations I printed out and sent to the friends that my 2 youngest boys wanted to invite.

My kids were so excited leading up to the day of the party. As each child arrived they were just in awe of all the fancy colorful candy. I had sandwiches I cut into gingerbread shapes to match the gingerbread men in the Candy land game. I gave everyone a bag as they arrived, had them write their name on it and let them load it up with all the goodies on the party table for them to take home with them. After finishing the “gingerbread men” sandwiches (and the rest of lunch) we all gathered on the floor to play Candy Land.

There wasn’t a kid at the party who hadn’t played Candy Land before. They all knew the game and loved playing the game. They even knew this version was different then theirs, since the games I received were the new redesigned Candy Land board game. I could see (and they told me so) that they all had a great time. I was very pleased with how everything turned out. After having a party like this I think that whether you have a bigger party or just a small party that if it involves a fun game like Candy Land and kids to play it, it’s going to be a hit.

I took video of the Candy Land Game Party. However I realized I am a terrible videographer lol. Practice makes perfect and I will be practicing a lot with 3 kids and all their activities.
